Kolcraft Portable Crib Mattress

We are going to talk about a replacement foam mattress that is used in portable cribs. If you had any experience, you know that most portable cribs do not have good mattresses, they are simply too thin. So this Kolcraft product is a good solution if you need something more comfortable.

This crib mattress is 38 inches long, 24 inches wide and is 2.5 inches thick. Just check out that thickness, you don't see that often. Mattresses for adults are that thick, but not for babies. And this size should suit several portable cribs. Some of them won't be such a good choice, like Pack 'n' Play since they different measurements.

You can put it in your portable crib and see if it fits. There are instructions that say you shouldn't put a thicker mattress inside, so read them to see how much limit you have actually. I think it is safe to be under the ASTM safety standards. You may say that it's just a bed and nothing can go wrong, but I believe that rules are there for a reason. If you do not have e proper measurements and it doesn't fit right, change a crib or a mattress.

What you get with this product is a whole lot of foam that is covered with a waterproof vinyl. You won't have any problems with cleaning this one and that is a good news for all mothers out there. You can also get a mattress pad over it so you get extra comfort and protection.

When it comes to firmness, it is hard to say at what level it is. We all want to hear what consumers have to say, but since the consumers of these products can't talk yet, we have to rely on our own judgment. I would say that this Kolcraft portable crib mattress has medium firm surface. It would seem that is soft at first, but you have to bear in mind that a baby will sleeping on it, not a heavy adult man. Since the baby that sleeps here will have around 10 pounds, it won't be too soft for her to fall through. Still, this one ain't firm like some innerspring mattresses, but do not be worried about that. Just check it by yourself so you can see does it fit you or no. I believe it is perfectly fine.

Like I said, consumers still can't talk so I can not say what is the level of comfort here. Maybe you can get thicker one or one that is softer...who knows. If the baby ain't complaining, then it is all OK :)

If you want to snug your loved one when you are out with a portable crib, Kolcraft has a good solution here. I believe you won't feel sorry, especially because the price is low. Even if you don't find it fit as a crib mattress, you can still use it as a small playground for your baby.
